Join Us

It’s easy to join us. There is no audition, and you don’t have to know how to read music.Conductor's page left colume We believe anybody can sing with practice, and we welcome people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.

We have weekly rehearsals on Sunday mornings from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Learning Resource Centre at Britannia Community Centre on Commercial Drive (check out “Choir Schedule” for details on how to find us). Come and check us out any time.

We do not practice on long weekends. In months with no long weekends, we take one Sunday off, usually (but not always) the last Sunday of the month. We have a summer break from mid-July to September. You can check the choir’s practice schedule on this web site.

We work in four sections: bass, tenor, alto and soprano. Our conductor Earle Peach can help you decide which section is for you. Each section practices separately approximately every two months, before regular rehearsal times. The choir maintains a scent-free environment. Our rehearsal space and gigs are accessible for people with disabilities.

Contact us at solidaritynotes[at]gmail.com (replace the [at] with @) if you have any questions … we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

We cover our expenses by charging monthly dues of $35. However, no-one is turned away for lack of funds.
