It’s easy to join us. There is no audition, and you don’t have to know how to read music. We believe anybody can sing with practice, and we welcome people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
We have weekly rehearsals on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 2:30 pm. We are currently getting together at Beaconsfield Park behind the Italian Cultural Centre. We’meet at a tree not far from the park field house, which is on Slocan…if you walk on the north side of the field house you’ll see us over toward the community garden. People can also join us on Zoom. Contact us via the website link to keep up-to-date with our most recent locations.
We do not practice on long weekends. In months with no long weekends, we take one Sunday off, usually (but not always) the last Sunday of the month. We have a summer break from mid-July to September.
We work in four sections: bass, tenor, alto and soprano. Our conductor Earle Peach can help you decide which section is for you. Each section practices separately approximately every two months, before regular rehearsal times. The choir maintains a scent-free environment. Our rehearsal space and gigs are accessible for people with disabilities.
We cover our expenses by charging monthly dues of $35. However, no-one is turned away for lack of funds.
